Prayer channels GOD’s supply to our needs.

Your FATHER knows what you need before you ask Him.

Matthew 6:8
Hebrews 3:1-6

Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider JESUS, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, just as Moses also was faithful in all GOD’s house. For JESUS has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses–as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is GOD.) Now Moses was faithful in all GOD’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but CHRIST is faithful over GOD’s house as a SON. And we are His house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.

Video – Matthew 5:15-16 Bible teaching – YouTube

In the Old Testament, the prophets frequently proclaimed that GOD’s people would be a light to the world (for example, Isaiah 60:1-3). In the New Testament, this light emanates from JESUS (John 1:1-14) through his people. Here JESUS applies the Old Testament promise to the New Testament Church, commanding them to adorn the Gospel with their good works. Although good works themselves are not the Gospel, they can make the Gospel attractive as a demonstration of a changed life. As you pray, ask the LORD to give you a desire to live for him in order to be a light to the world. Thank the LORD for the opportunity to be a part of the spread of the Gospel message.
Matthew 5:14 – Verse of the Day 6/20/13 – Whats in the Bible

This verse is an allusion to Isaiah 60:1-3. In Isaiah “thick darkness is over the peoples (60:2), but the “glory of the LORD rises upon” the people of Israel as a result of GOD’s covenant with them (59:21). As a result the “Nations will come to your light” (60:3). With this background in mind, the meaning of JESUS’ words becomes clear. The light of GOD’s people is a reflection of His own glory, and it is a light given for the purpose of calling others to know Him. We are called to live according to the Word of GOD in order that others might “see our good deeds and praise” our FATHER in Heaven. Spend some time in prayer considering not only the areas of your life in need of repentance and transformation for that purpose, but also for those who might listen to the message of salvation as a result of seeing the change that GOD is working in your life.
