1 John 2:24-25
Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the SON and in the FATHER. And this is the promise that He made to us–eternal life.
LOVE…Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
1 Corinthians 13:6-7 KJV
Family Bible –
In 1 Corinthians 13, LOVE is characterized neither as merely a sentiment nor merely an action. Instead, especially in verses 4-7, LOVE is described in both emotional and behavioral terms. This verse captures that balance perfectly, for LOVE is oriented both to correct action (not rejoicing at wrongdoing) and correct belief (rejoicing at the truth). As you pray, ask the LORD to shape both your mind and your heart to reflect to others the LOVE that He has shown to you. Consider how you might grow in both understanding and passion for the LORD, and ask the LORD for opportunities to pursue them both together. Thank the LORD for his LOVE for you demonstrated in the sacrifice of JESUS, and ask the LORD to make you passionate in your pursuit to LOVE others sacrificially as you follow after Him.
